WordPress Perth Meetup – Security Presentation

We’ve recently been helping to reinvigorate the Perth WordPress community by taking over the reigns of the WordPress Perth Meetup group!

Our first meetup was held successfully on the 21st March at Riff (powered by Spacecubed) and we were excited to see so many people in attendance.

The topic of the evening was “WordPress Security – the Good, the Bad and the Ugly!” with a presentation (courtesy of yours truly) followed by a Q&A session with some of Perth’s finest WP brains.

I was joined on the Q&A panel by Maeve Lander from Automattic, Ross Minney from Devhouse, Mike Haydon from IntelliWolf and Ricky Blacker from WP Engine. There was some really interesting discussion following the presentation on SSL, plugins, updates and best practices.

If you want to check out the slides from the presentation, you can view them here:

Some other useful resources that were mentioned during the Q&A are:

I’m a busy gal so I won’t be spamming you, I send out emails less than once a month (and probably not even that unless something really cool happens).
